History

A brief history

The “Victoria Police Alpine Club" was established in 1966.

The lodge consisted of a Forestry Commission Hut at Mirrimbah. When the Forestry Commission decided to demolish the Hut, a group of dedicated Foundation members bought the block of land for $13,000 and built the original lodge, which was opened in June 1980.

The early 90’s saw the lodge extended with the inclusion of additional bedrooms, and again in 2006, a further extension to each end of the lodge saw the completion of the games and TV room and a huge undercover entertaining area.

A volunteer Committee of Management administers the Victoria Police Alpine Club. This group of 12 people manages the work necessary to keep the facility running in an efficient manner.

Our strategic plan for the future is currently under review and development to take us beyond 2025.

Our vision is to ensure that the Victoria Police Alpine Club continues to remain a viable and enjoyable facility for the generations to come of members and guests. It gives us some set objectives, time frames, and required maintenance.
